Hi I’m Tess!
Having a mom who did hair & worked in salons while I was growing up, it was almost inevitable that I would only be the most comfortable, most authentic version of myself while behind the chair! After high school, I tried college for 2 years, deciding nutrition + dietetics were not for me, so off to cosmetology school I went without a single regret to be found! Having found my passion at such a young age, I’ve already spent over 12 years honing my craft, so don’t let the baby face deter you! ;)
I worked at the Hair Cuttery in Columbia, MD for 5 years, building my clientele and absorbing countless hours of free education. I joined the Floyds 99 Barbershop team in Ellicott City for another 4 years, until I gained the confidence & security needed to step out and be my own boss in the MODA Salon Studios during the Covid pandemic! I owned and operated my own studio for 4 years, but I missed the team environment so here I am at Inspire Salon in Ellicott City/Turf Valley!
When I’m not actively doing hair or hanging out with my husband, stepson, and all of our pets. I’m taking classes and trying to learn everything I can about new trends, new techniques, new products, and even the science & chemistry behind hair & hair color! You have my promise that I wouldn’t use products on you that I wouldn’t use on myself and my family.
